Jorge is an active member of the Dad's club with the Timberline Elementary PTA. He has been the coordinator and block captain for his neighborhood crime watch program for over 5 years and is an active volunteer for many of the children's programs at his church. He has been a long time donor of educational organizations such as the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering and the National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science.

Jorge believes that the educational success of our children is directly related to the alchemy of teachers, administration and parents working in unison. He wants to ensure that the district meets the diverse educational needs of all children in our community. He is passionate about high academic standards, particularly in math and science, which will propel all students to higher levels of college education. Jorge intends to pursue these goals with the utmost fiscal responsibility.
