Jorge Rodriguez and his wife Jill of 12 years have been residents of Grapevine since 1995. They have two children, Jasmine, who is a third grader at Timberline Elementary and Julian, who is in preschool.

Jorge has an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and a master in business administration from the University of Dallas. He has worked in the telecommunications industry for over 14 years at Motorola, Nokia and currently at the ATX Group. He is a member of the National Society of Hispanics with MBAs. He has been a long time donor of educational organizations such as the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering and the National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science.

Jorge is an active member of the Dad's club with the Timberline Elementary PTA. He has been the coordinator and block captain for his neighborhood crime watch program for over 5 years. As a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, he serves on the Community Men's Club Outreach Committee, and he and his wife serve as a Marriage Sponsor Couple. He is also an active volunteer for many of the children's programs at his church.

Jorge believes that the educational success of our children is directly related to the alchemy of teachers, administration and parents working in unison. He wants to ensure that the district meets the diverse educational needs of all children in our community. He is passionate about high academic standards, particularly in math and science, which will propel all students to higher levels of college education. Jorge intends to pursue these goals with the utmost fiscal responsibility.
